Gentiles, who are the gentiles? In the broadest term they are those of European descent. Largely, the gentiles will fail and will be swept off of this land. However, there are promises extended to them on conditions of repentance. The Book of Mormon is saturated with prophecies concerning the Native Americans and the responsibility the gentiles have towards them. It is all over the book. They may be in a poor state currently, but this will change. Some will be blessed by God. He tells us what will happen. We just have to pay attention to the details. The spirit of The Book of Mormon is the spirit of Christ. In it we find God's will and with that knowledge we can align ourselves with it. Without this knowledge, we will be found fighting against it.
In short, the gentiles "may be NUMBERED among my people, O house of Israel" and the remnant of Lehi, Lamanites, or Native Americans "shall be NUMBERED AGAIN among the house of Israel".
When Christ visited the ancestors of the Native Americans he gave them a sign of when he would begin to gather Israel. A major part of the sign is a seven point description of how the Father would manifest His power to the gentiles. I will demonstrate how only recently the first six points have been fulfilled and the seventh is underway. In this sign we encounter this phrase "may shew forth his power unto the gentiles for this cause" which locks it in with a continuing prophecy. We will go into detail.
And verily I say unto you, I give unto you a sign, that ye may know the time when these things shall be about to take place, that I shall gather in from their long dispersion my people, O house of Israel, and shall establish again among them my Zion. And behold, this is the thing which I will give unto you for a sign: for verily I say unto you that when these things which I declare unto you — and which I shall declare unto you hereafter of myself and by the power of the holy ghost, which shall be given unto you of the Father — shall be made known unto the gentiles, that they may know concerning this people who are a remnant of the house of Jacob, and concerning this my people who shall be scattered by them
This clearly identifies the descendants of these people as the Native Americans.
verily, verily I say unto you, when these things shall be made known unto them of the Father and shall come forth of the Father from them unto you — for it is wisdom in the Father that they should be established in this land and be set up as a free people by the power of the Father, that these things might come forth from them unto a remnant of your seed, that the covenant of the Father may be fulfilled which he hath covenanted with his people, O house of Israel — therefore, when these works and the works which shall be wrought among you hereafter shall come forth from the gentiles unto your seed which shall dwindle in unbelief because of iniquity — for thus it behooveth the Father that it should come forth from the gentiles, that he may shew forth his power unto the gentiles for this cause,
this phrase links this prophecy to another prophecy. It provides a key into it. It unlocks some contextual knowledge about it. There are seven points that fulfill this prophecy. I will go through them one by one and then we will go into the prophecy in which this provides a key.
that the gentiles,
Here is the targeted group, the gentiles, those of primarily European descent.
(Point #1.) if they will not harden their hearts,
Harden their hearts? Against what? A message was given to a servant directly from God, commissioned to call a wicked people to repentance. As part of this call to repentance, there were ten talks given in ten cities, beginning in Boise and ending in Phoenix. (Point #2.) that they may repent,
The message of these talks was a message of repentance to these hard hearted, prideful, self-important, self-assured, argumentative, quarrelsome, boastful and stubborn gentiles. A message that many of the beliefs that these gentiles held were at best insufficient to produce anything good and at worst damning. Behold, something powerful began to happen. Some of these gentiles began to repent.
(Point #3.) and come unto me,
The Lord answers this directly. And how do men come unto me? It is by faith, repentance, and baptism, which bring the holy ghost, to then show you all things you must know.
(Point #4.) and be baptized in my name,
At the 10th talk in Phoenix, the commandment to be baptized was renewed. The language was given. "calling them by name, saying, Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy ghost." On September 14th, 2014, twenty eight of us were baptized in the Boise river. We were submerged in the water and brought back out again. This was done by those given authority by God to perform this ordinance. Similar scenes were repeated throughout the land.
(Point #5.) and know of the true points of my doctrine,
Though this group of gentiles had known of the doctrine of Christ, it was pointed out how specific and strict it is. Anything more or less proclaimed as his doctrine brings evil. This is His doctrine.
I will declare unto you my doctrine. And this is my doctrine, and it is the doctrine which the Father hath given unto me — and I bear record of the Father, and the Father beareth record of me, and the holy ghost beareth record of the Father and me — and I bear record that the Father commandeth all men everywhere to repent and believe in me. And whoso believeth in me, and is baptized, the same shall be saved, and they are they who shall inherit the kingdom of God. And whoso believeth not in me, and is not baptized, shall be damned. Verily, verily I say unto you that this is my doctrine, and I bear record of it from the Father. And whoso believeth in me believeth in the Father also, and unto him will the Father bear record of me, for he will visit him with fire and with the holy ghost. And thus will the Father bear record of me, and the holy ghost will bear record unto him of the Father and me, for the Father and I and the holy ghost are one. And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and become as a little child, and be baptized in my name, or ye can in nowise receive these things. And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and be baptized in my name, and become as a little child, or ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God. Verily, verily I say unto you that this is my doctrine. And whoso buildeth upon this buildeth upon my rock, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against them. And whoso shall declare more or less than this, and establisheth it for my doctrine, the same cometh of evil and is not built upon my rock, but he buildeth upon a sandy foundation, and the gates of hell standeth open to receive such when the floods come and the winds beat upon them. Therefore, go forth unto this people and declare the words which I have spoken unto the ends of the earth.
(Point #6.) that they may be numbered among my people, O house of Israel —
On September 3rd, 2017 here in Boise Idaho and broadcast to the whole world, a valid, living covenant from God was given for the first time to all those that would accept. The covenant is still being offered. There are conditions to the covenant and promises for faithfulness. If you go to the website scriptures.info and click on the "Teachings and Commandments" link, you will see a list of sections. Section 156 contains the prayer to the Lord to obtain a covenant. Section 157 contains the Lord's answer and Section 158 is the covenant itself. The words of the covenant contain these: "All you who have turned from your wicked ways and repented of your evil doings, of lying and deceiving, and of all whoredoms, and of secret abominations, idolatries, murders, priestcrafts, envying, and strife, and from all wickedness and abominations, and have come unto me, and been baptized in my name, and have received a remission of your sins, and received the holy ghost, are now numbered with my people who are of the house of Israel." Wow! Are the gentiles that accept this now really numbered with Israel? Yes. They get "NUMBERED". They become part of the Lord's people. It is quite shocking, really. Here it is in prophecy and it happened.
(Point #7.) and when these things come to pass, that thy seed shall begin to know these things,
Here is the seventh and last point of this portion of the sign. "thy seed" refers to the descendants of those to whom Christ was speaking or the Native Americans. This is incredible. The seventh point of the sign is they will begin to know these things. Which things? Why the things which have happened to the gentiles. We can trace this fulfillment. It is beautiful. We have the missionary tract. We have the things we need to teach. What is important is that the gentiles that receive these things make them known to the remnant of Lehi or the Native Americans. Now ask yourself. Would Christ give this sign if he didn't see that it would bear fruit? I don't believe so. Our responsibility is to understand it, to understand the Lord's will and convey it in the most effective way possible. Now there are those who accepted the covenant on September 3rd, 2017 that have Native American ancestors. Does this mean it is fulfilled? Two points.
Firstly, does it really matter? Why wouldn't you want to pick up your trump and proclaim the truth? Why would you not have the desire of Alma? Why would you not want to make efforts to make it known?
Secondly, I am of the belief that the gentiles that are numbered with Israel maintain somewhat of a dual identity at least for a while. Here is my evidence. Later in this discourse, we read as an echo of the previous material.
"But if they will repent(speaking of the gentiles), and hearken unto my words, and harden not their hearts, I will establish my church among them, and they shall come in unto the covenant and be numbered among this the remnant of Jacob, unto whom I have given this land for their inheritance. And they shall assist my people, the remnant of Jacob, and also as many of the house of Israel as shall come, that they may build a city which shall be called the New Jerusalem. And then shall they assist my people, that they may be gathered in, who are scattered upon all the face of the land, in unto the New Jerusalem."
Even though they are numbered with Jacob they still maintain a separate identity.
Secondly, from an earlier prophecy
: And it came to pass that I beheld the remnant of the seed of my brethren and also the book of the Lamb of God which had proceeded forth from the mouth of the Jew, that it came forth from the gentiles unto the remnant of the seed of my brethren. And after it had come forth unto them, I beheld other books which came forth by the power of the Lamb from the gentiles unto them, unto the convincing of the gentiles, and the remnant of the seed of my brethren, and also the Jews who were scattered upon all the face of the earth, that the records of the prophets and of the twelve apostles of the Lamb are true.
Now, who are these gentiles that take the other records, why the gentiles that have made the covenant and are numbered with Israel.
Thirdly, in the opening comments before the covenant was administered Denver makes the statement.
"Just as the ancient allegory foretold, the covenant makes us servants and laborers in the vineyard. We are we are required to, this is from the covenant: “Seek to recover the lost sheep remnant of this land and of Israel and no longer forsake them. Bring them unto [the Lord] and teach them of [His] ways to walk in them.” If we fail to labor to recover them, we break the covenant. We must labor for this “last time” in the Lord’s vineyard. There is an approaching, final pruning of the vineyard. The first to be grafted in are gentiles so that the last may be first. The lost sheep remnant next, and then Israelites, so that the first may be last. But grafting is required for all, even the remnants, because God works with His people through covenant making."
There is a distinct order to these things. The gentiles were first, now the remnant of Lehi and then the rest of Israel.
Fourthly, why would the Lord add to the covenant the obligation to recover the lost sheep of this land, if they had already been recovered?
it shall be a sign unto them that they may know that the work of the Father hath already commenced unto the fulfilling of the covenant which he hath made unto the people who are of the house of Israel.
And we have the fulfillment of the sign. This is going to happen. We know what we need to teach to assist in fulfilling the covenant. Which covenant is this? It is the covenant we read about earlier made to Abraham. In thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Earlier in this sign we read this phrase.
"may shew forth his power unto the gentiles for this cause"
On July 2nd of this year I discovered nearly this exact phrase in another prophecy about the same subject. I about fell out of my chair I was so overjoyed.
"may shew his power unto the gentiles for the very cause"
These vary by two curious words. They are about the Lord showing His power unto the gentiles for a specific reason. This key locks the two prophecies in time, or at least overlaps them in time. Let's take this key and turn the lock into the second prophecy.

NUMBERED AGAIN AMONG THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL

Behold, I say unto you that the house of Israel was compared unto an olive tree by the spirit of the Lord which was in our father. And behold, are we not broken off from the house of Israel? And are we not a branch of the house of Israel? And now the thing which our father meaneth concerning the grafting in of the natural branches through the fullness of the gentiles is that in the latter days, when our seed shall have dwindled in unbelief — yea, for the space of many years and many generations after the Messiah shall be manifested in body unto the children of men — then shall the fullness of the gospel of the Messiah come unto the gentiles, and from the gentiles unto the remnant of our seed. And at that day shall the remnant of our seed
(Point #1.) know that they are of the house of Israel
In these points I think there is a distinction between the two words "know" and "knowledge". I will elaborate on the point in point #3. I think with this point, "know" means to have an awareness. This can be communicated from man to man.
(Point #2.) and that they are the covenant people of the Lord.
Because they are of they house of Israel there were covenants promised to them.
(Point #3.) And then shall they know and come to the knowledge of their forefathers,
Ok, here we have the separation. If I were to write this as an algebraic equation I would write it as such. "And then shall they know of their forefathers and come to the knowledge of their forefathers." This is a two step process. First, you have to know of something. You have to gain an awareness of it. Then you can come to a knowledge of it. Which is deeper. In this case, it would mean coming to the knowledge that their forefathers had. This is something much greater.
(Point #4.) and also to the knowledge of the gospel of their Redeemer, which was ministered unto their fathers by him.
Ok, this is something deeper still. Christ ministered the gospel directly and personally to their fathers. This clearly means he will minister it to them personally and directly as he did to their fathers.
(Point #5.) Wherefore, they shall come to the knowledge of their Redeemer
Again, this isn't knowing something about their Redeemer, it is knowing him personally.
(Point #6.) and the very points of his doctrine,
There is more doctrine that he ministers to one personally.
(Point #7.) that they may know how to come unto him and be saved.
The process is completed, resulting in saved and redeemed souls.

Let's look at the results or the fruit of the these points.
(Result #1.) And then at that day, will they not rejoice
(Result #2.) and give praise unto their everlasting God, their rock, and their salvation?
(Result #3.) Yea, at that day, will they not receive strength and nourishment from the true vine?
(Result #4.) Yea, will they not come unto the true fold of God?
(Result #5.) Behold, I say unto you, yea, they shall be numbered again among the house of Israel;
The gentiles get NUMBERED, The remnant of Lehi, gets NUMBERED AGAIN. Which would imply at one point they were numbered and then lost it and then it will be restored.
(Result #6.) they shall be grafted in, being a natural branch of the olive tree, into the true olive tree;
and this is what our father meaneth. And he meaneth that it will not come to pass until after they are scattered by the gentiles.
Was the scattering complete when the Native Americans were violently forced onto reservations or is it complete when for one reason or another they leave the reservations voluntarily or involuntarily and are among the gentiles in their urban environments?
And he meaneth that it shall come by way of the gentiles, that the Lord may shew his power unto the gentiles for the very cause that he shall be rejected of the Jews, or of the house of Israel. Wherefore, our father hath not spoken of our seed alone, but also of all the house of Israel, pointing to the covenant which should be fulfilled in the latter days, which covenant the Lord made to our father Abraham, saying, In thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
Here we have a repeat of this covenant with Abraham. The Lord is telling us how this covenant will be fulfilled among the Lamanites. This is how they will be “blessed”. Incredible. Should we not rejoice? Indeed!
