The Purpose of this Blog

What is the purpose of this blog?
1. This is a blog about questions.

I don't know very much, so I stand in need. I seek to get knowledge and blessings from the Lord. The prophesies concerning the descendants of Lehi are of interest to me. Through this blog I will explore them. A question I ask may spark a question that another may ask the Lord and receive a blessing from Him.

I don't expect anyone to read this. I expect it to focus my study, understanding and diligence. Through it, I seek the Lord. I seek to partake of the fruit of the Tree of Life, which is to come into Christ's presence. I expect to seek and gain faith like unto the brother of Jared.

2. The Book of Mormon isn't owned by the LDS Church.
Yeah, I invite you to consider that for a moment.

A person can accept The Book of Mormon without accepting the LDS Church. With this thought, I invite you to give The Book of Mormon a look. Give it a read. Give it a chance, Give it some time.

The LDS Church doesn't talk about the prophesies in The Book of Mormon. If you don't believe me, listen to ten hours of the LDS general conference and see for yourself. They are not even acknowledged that they exist. They find themselves in a thick fog.

3. The LDS Church doesn't have the power it thinks it has.
As you consider this statement, please don't close your heart immediately because of your tradition. Please consider suspending judgement, to neither accept nor reject upon hearing a new idea. If it is a good seed it will bear fruit in time. If it is a bad seed it will produce bad fruit and you can reject it. Every seed has its own germination period.

On the evening of Friday May 26th, 1989, at the age of 18, I was baptized. I had offered everything as a sacrifice and stepped into my new faith with full purpose of heart. That evening, just as I laid down to go to sleep, I received the baptism of fire. It was an indescribably serene moment. I was told that my sins had been forgiven and that I was clean. I felt squeaky clean. For the next month, I literally floated. Joy encompassed me almost unceasingly. I "heard" the Lord's voice. I "felt" His personality.

My wife and I were excommunicated on April 15th, 2015 from the LDS Church. Our crime: rebaptism. The Lord has given a new commission. He has cut the church off. The Lord has an orderly pattern, in which, he takes away his blessings from a people. As Samuel the Lamanite tells us: First, he takes away his word(what have we received from the Lord in revelation since Joseph Smith?), Secondly, he takes away his Spirit from them(has this happened?), Thirdly, he suffers them no longer and Finally, he turns the hearts of their brethren against them. The Stake President would not have done this on his own, but he was commanded by someone higher up in the chain and he exercised what he felt was his duty to them. The Stake President was powerless to take more than our membership in the church. He could not take what God had given. The Spirit is still with me. I receive light and truth from God. Thirty six hours after our excommunication both my wife and I received, independently, joy and comfort from the Spirit.

4. God will keep his promises.
In speaking about the golden plates, Moroni tells us: "for none can have power to bring it to light save it be given him of God for God wills that it shall be done with an eye single to his glory or the welfare of the ancient and long dispersed covenant people of the Lord". There is an equivalency between an "eye single to his glory" and "the welfare of the ancient and long dispersed covenant people of the Lord" and that means is The Book of Mormon. In it we can expect to find the information necessary to assist in bringing about God's purposes. If we desire to assist, let us ask God if we can be of assistance.

5. Great are the promises to the children of Lehi.
As I read The Book of Mormon my mind is opened up to the great promises made to the descendants of Lehi. These are the Native Americans. These are the ones that are scattered by the Gentiles on this continent. One of these promises is that they will build Zion, with the Gentiles assisting. How magnificent! How glorious!

6. Gentiles, Gentiles, Gentiles, who are the Gentiles?
In the dedicatory prayer of the Nauvoo temple, Joseph Smith declares the Mormons as part of the Gentiles. "now these words oh Lord we have spoken before thee concerning the revelations and commandments which thou hast given unto us who are identified with the Gentiles". The Mormons believe they are of the House of Israel. If this is the case, then how is it they can be the ones that take the Book of the Lamb of God and the "other books" to the remnant of Lehi and the remnant of Jacob and the Jews? For, it is the Gentiles that are prophesied to do it.

We know that America is a Gentile nation and the United Kingdom is the mother Gentiles of the Americans. We can make other deductions about other nations being of the "Gentile nations".

7. The Book of Mormon has primacy.
The Book of Mormon claims to have come to us in a miraculous manner, by an angel of God declaring its origin and location. Twelve gave their witness, one then three then eight. It is true or it is false. We accept it or we reject it. It is the word of God or it isn't. It is not as the Bible that has passed through many polluting hands.

8. Great are the prophecies contained in The Book of Mormon
I believe when it is all said and done, we will look back and marvel at how wonderful are the prophesies in the book. It will prove God knew the beginning from the end. It will work to his glory. I also believe that most of the prophecy in the book hasn't happened, yet. The Gentiles that don't repent will be swept off this continent. Zion will be built here. America will attempt to establish a king. America will fracture and will break into tribes. Great natural disasters will happen. God will send prophets and saints that will be killed and rejected. Their blood will cry unto him and he will send destruction through the elements of fire, water, earth and wind. Great conversions are on he horizon. God will manifest himself with power.
